Information has surfaced regarding the third Black & White sets – Psycho Break and Hail Blizzard – which will be released in Japan on September 16th. It looks like the sets will be bringing back Pokemon-ex, though they may be different than before.
Pokemon-EX will appear in these sets. However, they might be a different mechanic than the old Pokemon-ex: according to the set’s product sheet, the term “EX” will be pronounced differently than in the original sets, which may mean they are meant to be something different. Additionally, the new “EX” is capitalized whereas the old “ex” was lowercased. Still, Pokemon will have the “EX” in their names (Reshiram EX and Zekrom EX), so they’ll probably be the same, if not a spiritual successor.
Pokemon from every generation will appear in both sets. Confirmed so far are Scrafty, Pikachu, Lucario, Bisharp, Cinccino, and Meowth (in addition to Mewtwo and Kyurem from the other day).
Each set will feature 52 cards (48 cards + 4 secret rares).
Cilan will appear as a Supporter card.
The first Stadium card of the Black & White era will debut.
Double Colorless Energy will be reprinted.
New “Battle Strength Decks” featuring Reshiram EX and Zekrom EX will be released on October 21st for 1,680 yen each. Each deck contains 60 cards and both a holo and non-holo version of its respective EX card.
When you buy five booster packs of the set, you will receive either a Luxio, Riolu, or Meowth promo.

The official Pokemon Card website has posted its first official advertisement for Psycho Drive and Hail Blizzard, the third Black & White sets to be released in Japan on September 16th, though it does not mention them by name yet. The ad shows Mewtwo and "EX," obviously referring to the fact that the sets will reintroduce Pokemon-EX (or at least their spiritual successors). The website says it will reveal more information about the ad in mid-August, though of course we already know it is an advertisement for BW3 and that Mewtwo EX and Kyurem EX will be in the sets (and that a Reshiram EX and Zekrom EX will be released in new Battle Strength Decks on October 21st). Click the thumbnail of the ad below to enlarge it.

In other news, a new "Thundurus vs. Tornadus Battle Gift Set" will be released in Japan on November 18th for 3,150 yen. It will contain two 30-card decks along with a deck box and the usual TCG accessories. Reshiram, Victini, Zekrom, Thundurus, and Tornadus will each appear in the gift set as rare holo cards. Landorus will also be featured in the set, but as a full art card! (His two comrades already appeared as full art cards, so now it's his turn). Hopefully we'll get an image of the gift set soon!

Mewtwo EX from ‘Psycho Drive’ Revealed!

The latest issue of CoroCoro magazine has revealed Mewtwo EX (#020/052) from Psycho Drive, the third Black & White set along with Hail Blizzard. As with old Pokemon-ex, Mewtwo EX retains the rule that if it is Knocked Out, your opponent takes two Prize cards. Seemingly the only difference between these new Pokemon-EX and the Pokemon-ex of the Ruby & Sapphire era is that their artwork sticks out of their borders (and that they use uppercase letters for "EX," of course) - they will still have higher HP and stronger attacks than their normal counterparts but with the drawback of the Prize rule. Click the thumbnails below to enlarge them! The magazine also revealed a new promo Stadium featuring Kyurem and Mewtwo, named Battle City, which will be included in the September issue to promote BW3 - its artwork also sticks out of its borders. This is all so exciting and nostalgic!

Mewtwo EX - Psychic - HP170
Basic Pokemon

[c][c] X-Ball: 20x damage. Does 20 damage for each Energy attached to both Active Pokemon.
[P][P][c] Psycho Drive: 120 damage. Discard an Energy attached to this Pokemon.

Pokemon EX Rule: When Pokemon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

Battle City - Stadium

You can play a Stadium next to your Active Pokemon once during your turn. If a Stadium with a different name comes into play, discard this card.

Once during each player's turn, that player may flip a coin. If heads, that player draws a card.

Surgeon of Death
